Pop artist, Andy Warhol, was once shot three times on the 3 June 1968 by a feminist named Valerie Solanas. In regards to the shooting, Warhol said: “Right when I was being shot and ever since, I knew that I was watching television. The channels switch, but it’s all television.”
When the founder of the Impressionist movement, Claude Monet, was 28 years old, he suffered from depression as a result of frustration with the Académie and failing to provide for his family. Because of this, he decided to jump off of a bridge into the River Seine in the north of France. He survived the jump and went on to be very successful as a painter.
Pablo Picasso, whose full name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso, was a painter who was prominent in the movements of Cubism and Surrealism. He used to always carry around a revolver that was filled with blanks which he would fire at people if they asked him the meaning of his paintings.
