Queen Victoria reigned from 20th June 1837 until her death on 22nd January 1901 overseeing change during this period. The Victorian Era saw the Industrial Revolution, the expansion of the British Empire in Asia and Africa (making it the largest empire in history); Britain had one of the best economies in the world at this time. While Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom may not have had any direct political power due the concept of a constitutional monarchy, she was still loved public icon, and her 63-year reign made her the figure of Great Britain.
