This image of Tsarevich Nicholas was taken at the wedding of his cousin, Prince George, Duke of York (future King George V of the United Kingdom). George was getting married to Mary of Teck (future Queen Mary of the United Kingdom).
The photograph of the future Russia Emperor was taken by Gustav William Henry Mullins, a renowned British portrait photographer, best known for taking photos of the Royal family.
The original version of this image is in the Public Domain and was sourced from Wikimedia Commons. A larger version can also be found on the website which shows that Nicholas was sitting on a chair when the photograph was taken.
