History Question of the Day – Day 7 – October 10th

The Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) was an organization formed by Emmeline Pankhurst on October 10th, 1903, to campaign for women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom. They played a key role in women first receiving the right to vote as part of the Representation of the People Act 1918. As it is the 119th anniversary of the organization’s formation, this is what the history question of the day will be about.

“History Question of the Day” is a new quiz series that we will be releasing every day for the foreseeable future that will feature just one question on a historical topic that is in some way related to the day. This could be a birthday, anniversary, major event, or trending news topic. As long as the date can be linked to a historical event, the history question of the day may be related to it.
